strawberries and cream

Had a belated birthday dinner with the prettylady at Mandarin Gallery the other day. I chose Jones the Grocer since i have yet to be there before. Have always been craving for their breakfast set ever since i saw it on someone’s blog. Looks so delicious. But sadly, i didnt manage to try it till now. The menu they had was only lunch/dinner type. sob. FML. Guess breakfast is not an all-day thing for them too. sigh.

The menu.. Wished they had more variety for dinner though.

Square little sugar cubes. The prettylady kept saying she is tempted to take one and pop them into her mouth. Nuts. I had to stop her from doing so.

My braised duck and mushroom pasta! yum. *thumbs up*

Her mushroom risotto. The “flakes” on top are cheese. Yummie! She dont take cheese, so she gave them all to me! yay!

After that we went out to coffee club for dessert instead since Jones didnt have what she wanted.

Ordered a strawberry shortcake for myself. Okays, i didnt really like it at all. The orange layer on the top tasted a little weird to me. Maybe it’s just me but i would prefer just some normal cream on top or with more strawberries like how is it at bakerzin or canele. :/

oooh. She got me a gloomy bear for my birthday as well. haha!
